Rejuvenating Oat and Yogurt Facial Mask 

As a busy mother, I'm constantly running around doing things for other people. Reminding yourself to stop once in a while and take some time out for you is important. Going to the spa and getting pampered is always a welcome treat. However, money and time don’t always make it possible to get out there. The next best option is to have a DIY facemask at home. You can easily make your own facemask with items that you probably already have in your kitchen or that you can get for cheap at a local grocery store. It's an easy way to give yourself a little bit of a treat, while the kids are with a sitter or at school. Put of some soft music, turn off the ringer on your phone, and give yourself a break.


One of my favorite masks is a moisturizing one that leaves my skin soft and revitalized. I always find myself at the start of spring needing to refresh my skin that has gotten dry and dull from the winter weather. This oatmeal and yogurt mask is exfoliating to remove dry skin, leaving your face with a healthy glow.




1 tablespoon of oats

1 tablespoon of plain yogurt

1 teaspoon of honey

1/2 teaspoon of olive oil





Mix the above ingredients in a small bowl and let sit for about 15 minutes to let the oats soften. Apply the mixture evenly over your clean face and let it sit for 20 minutes. After about 20 minutes, rinse it off and gently pat your face dry.


What the mask does


This mask is good for dry skin because it contains a wealth of moisturizers. Such as yogurt and oatmeal, which are mild and great for people with sensitive skin.


Olive oil is a rich moisturizer that is full of vitamin E, A, and loaded with antioxidants. Antioxidants are valued for their anti-aging properties. Honey has many skin benefits, among them is helping the skin to retain moisture.


Oatmeal helps keep moisture in the skin, reduces inflammation, and soothes skin irritation. Yogurt softens and hydrates skin. Yogurt also contains lactic acid, which acts as an exfoliant and helps to keep skin clear and smooth. Lactic acid is a natural alpha hydroxy acid that can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and may give skin a more youthful appearance.

Top 10 Must Haves for Maternity Wardrobe! 


1. Tunic Top-  provides plenty of room where pregnant women need it – across the middle, to accommodate a growing belly, and in the length, to cover your expanding hips and bottom. It also keeps you cool in warm weather. 






Yoga Pants- preferably in black or gray, for versatility – do more for your shape than baggy "I've given up" sweatpants, and they're just as comfortable. Find a pair that are stretchy enough to hold their shape and yours. Look for a wide, fold-over waistband so you can adjust it as your body changes.



Maternity Skirts- Look for ones in darker colors to keep you looking slim, with a soft fabric that folds over easily at the waist. You wont feel constricted and have pleanty of ventilation for your fluctuating body temperature, Especially in the summer. A-line styles flatter most including those that are top heavy. 



Maternity Jeans- Invest in a pair of maternity jeans in a dark, slimming wash and a universally flattering boot cut. Or buy a few in different styles so that you wont feel so limited. You can find styles that fit over or under belly with several versions of stretchy material to grow with you. Lets face it you will probably wear them post partum as well so we highly recommend you invest especially if its your first and you plan on having more. 



Leggings- keeps you comfy and stylish year-round. Pair them with knee-high boots when it's cold, or ballet flats or sandals when it's warmer. While you can get away with non-maternity leggings, pushing the waistband beneath your bump, maternity leggings have a more forgiving belly band that grows with you. You will want to live in these, just like the yoga pants. THese can also be dressed up for work with a pretty dress. 


Dress Pants- they'll hug your curves and move with you. Make sure that the cuff falls just an inch or two from the floor to create a long, lean line from waist to toe. Any shorter can make your legs look stumpy; any longer can look sloppy and widening.




2. Maternity Tanks- have extra fabric in the belly that expands with you while keeping your curves comfortably contained. Plus, showing a little skin can keep you cool when your inner furnice kicks in. Go for hip length, which not only is more flattering but allows a pop of color to peak out beneath top layers, adding visual interest.

Cardigan- The silhouette that is most flattering during pregnancy is one that hangs loose and helps give a more vertical, elongated look to your figure. Choose one in a midweight, drapey jersey knit or lightweight wool blend. Depending on the time of year you will be heaviest. Try to find one that is a bit shorter in the back than the front, so you can wrap the longer ends around your shoulders or sides for warmth and shape.


Dresses Wrap/Maxi- plays up your shape without restricting it, and the V-neck showcases your growing bust. The crossover tie helps define your smallest area on your torso which helps you look tiny even with a bump. The maxi dress is great for hiding swellen legs and not being able to reach areas for remobing hair. ;) 









Comfy Flats- these have no laces or buckles means no bending over your burgeoning belly. They are super easy to put on and off without too must hassle. If you get ones that are super comfy then you will be able to withstand the swelling and pain that comes with a growing belly weight. Eventually the only thing you will be able to fit on are flipflops and I highly recommend Havanas!

Here is what I thought,

Which is my favorite part of course. It makes you feel like the product it doing something. :) I enjoyed having it on my face because it didn’t smell like chemicals. It also didn’t dry so much that it made my face hurt like some other masks. It washed off easily without having to scrub which can be abrasive. After my skin felt soft, clean did actually look radiant. This product is reasonably priced and can easily fit into any beauty regimen. I am sure that once you try it you will find that you will want to use it often! I am glad to have found this product and will be using it regularly now! :)

Celeb Dentists Tricks for a Healthy & Bright Smile! 


After being pregnant and having my baby girl I have had major issues with my teeth. It seems that during pregnancy my teeth suffered from deficiencies and became sensitive. This caused me to have 4 cavities and needing 2 crowns. I haven’t had a cavity since I was a teen. So I began to rethink my morning, afternoon and evening regimen a bit more and well yes I could floss more than a couple times a week, and add a brushing in the middle of the day, and stay on track with required cleanings, ect. Here are a few more tips from Celeb Dentists! 


Get the most you can while brushing- Use a whitening toothpaste to get them pearly white {if you have sensitivity like me Sensodyne is heaven sent!} And 3 minutes is the recommended time for brushing your teeth! Seriously, I guarantee none of us brush for 3 minutes when you are rushing to work, with a screaming hungry baby! 
Dont forget to floss- I have began flossing before I brush, that way I don’t have yucky stuff hanging out and the brushing gets rid of that after taste. {EEEWWW} I love Floss Picks {floss with the handles} they are not more expensive than regular floss and they are compact to take with you. I have them in my car and purse all the time. Even better, when you have something stuck in your teeth because let’s face it that is the worst. You pretty much will use anything to get that sucker out. 
Use Mouthwash- After flossing gargle for 30 seconds {ya I cant hold it in that long either, it burns like a Mother*}. These formulas are germ fighting killing bacteria and reducing plaque and gingivitis. 
On-The-Go- Use sugarless gum with xylitol after eating it will help clean teeth and prevent cavities {I am getting me a container of these!}

I have my first appointment in 2 weeks for the left side cavities and 1 crown. Since it will be my first crown I am shaking in my boots. :( wish me luck!
